National Hajj Commission has dismissed claims that Saudi Arabian authorities will ban Nigeria from the coming 2018 Hajj.

This is contained in a press statement signed by Fatima Mustapha, the head of Media of the Commission.

The statement said the attention of Commission was drawn to some social media platforms where the fake news was circulating that Saudi authorities will block Nigeria from 2018 Hajj.

“We read with dismay the story and we want to allay the fears of Nigerians especially the intending pilgrims that no such decision has been taken nor was there any plan of such” the statement added.

Assuring intending pilgrims of the commitment of the Commission and the federal government towards providing needed services, the statement further stated that it shall soon announce the rates for this year’s hajj any moment from now.
