The Central Bank of Nigeria CBN has has dismissed news on an inferno engulfing its headquarters in Abuja.
In a press release signed by the Acting Director Corporate Communications Isaac Okorafor, he said reports that the CBN headquarters is on fire is false.
That statement explained that passerby who saw a pall of exhauast from the generator house far away from the building apparently mistook it for fire smoke.
It further said, the CBN maintains a total security system that triggers safety alarms in the presence of smoke and so all fire engines and personnel received the alert only to realise that it was an unusual pall of exhaust.
Meanwhile, the CBN assures that everything is under control and that there has not been any fire at the building.
