Obasanjo Makes U-Turn, Declares Support For Buhari.——Disclaimer.

A rejoinder has been written by Comrade Ayuba Wabba, mni, the president of the NLC disclaiming reports that former Nigeria’s president Olusegun Obasanjo has made a u-turn to support President Muhammadu Buhari.

The statement reads as fellows:

Re: Workers Day: Obasanjo Makes U-Turn, Declares Support For Buhari.——Disclaimer.

My attention has been drawn to a story by New Nigeria Reporters (an on-line medium) entitled “Workers Day: Obasanjo Makes U-Turn, Declares Support For Buhari), alleging that I, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, led the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress to pay a courtesy visit on Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at his Abuja residence as part of the activities to mark this year’s Workers Day.

Paying a visit to an eminent and distinguished citizen like Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is an honour to us at the Nigeria Labour Congress.

However, on this occasion, there was no such visit, except perhaps, in the imagination of these fake reporters .Accordingly, readers are advised to ignore this story .

I am still at a loss as to what possibly could have been the motive of the promoters of this story, since they did not as much as say what we told Chief Obasanjo during the visit.

It is equally amazing that we went on that visit with only the New Nigeria Reporters yet we have a full compliment of Labour Reporters who have faithfully reported our activities over the decades!

Once, again, I find it necessary to advise the readers of this story not to attach any value to it.

I also advise these so-called New Nigeria Reporters to find a more meaningful job to do.

Finally, those who abuse the social media space unwittingly invite regulation or censorship which we are better off without as a people who choose to be free.

Comrade Ayuba Wabba, mni

President
