The Senator representing Kaduna North Sulaiman Hunkuyi has cried out alleging that the state government is attempting to demolish his residence located at Inuwa Wada Road Unguwan Rimi Kaduna despite court restrictions.
The Senator pointed this out on his Twitter handle saying that the matter is still pending in the High Court of Justice Kaduna.
The Senator received a bill since February by the Kaduna Geographical Information Service, KADGIS, informing him of a 24-year accumulated ground rent of N1.4m for which he has been fined N30m.
Earlier, a building belonging to the Senator located at Sambo road in Kaduna was bulldozed by the state government accusing him of similar offences.
It would be recalled that during a sit-out protest in Abuja convened by the Concerned Nigerians group protesting the illegal detention of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, who is from the same senatorial zone with Hunkuyi, the leader of the group, Mr. Deji Adeyanju warned the senator against silence after the state government demolished the residence and religious centers of the IMN in Zaria in 2015 saying it would be his turn one day.
The Senator has been in political tussle with the state governor and along with other senators from the state was cursed in a public speech condemned as hate speech by the state governor recently.
