Former Speaker Ghali Na’aba has described Pres
ident Muhammadu Buhari’s manner of governance as monocratic while expressing regret over his defection from People Democratic Party, PDP to All Progressive Congress, APC in 2015.
“It is a Party that produced the President but the President does not work with the party. In fact the president does not work with anybody, he works only with himself.”
He stated this recently in an interview with newsmen on issues concerning the divisions in APC and the emergence of the nPDP within the party.
Na’abba whose house was burned down for his support for PDP in 2011 further stated that the president has this monocratic tendencies adding that even a lot of people that worked with him in the last twelve years have left him because he does not even seem to know what is happening to him.
The former speaker also expressed displeasure over the level of impunity displayed in the APC where he said he was not invited to the fourth and the fifth meetings of the party because he indicated his intention not to support Buhai in 2019.
“I was not invited to the fourth and fifth meetings because in an interview with a Network I indicated my intention not to support Buhari’s re-election in 2019.”
He described the way things are moving as undemocratic as they pose danger to the tenets of democracy while explaining that the APC and Buhari have become one and the same thing.
