In a renewed call for the release of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, the revered leader of the Tijjaniyya, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi said they will continue to pray for the freedom and good health of the IMN leader.
He stated this during a Ramadan visit to his Kaduna center by members of the IMN in Kaduna led by the head of the Kaduna Center of the Movement Sheikh Aliyu Tirmizi.
The respected clergy called on the Nigerian government to obey court injunction and release the IMN leader adding that the court has exonerated him and ordered that he be released unconditionally, a house be built for him in any place of his choice and be paid N50 million as damages.
In his address at the visit, the leader of the IMN team, Sheikh Tirmizi said the visit is in line with the teachings of the IMN leader and his call for unity and understanding among the various Muslim groups. He added that the IMN is also using the opportunity to express gratitude for the Tijjaniyya leader’s concern over the plight of their leader.
He also expressed concern over the recent suit against Sheikh Zakzaky who is being accused of murdering one Corporal Dan Kaduna during the Zaria massacre of 2015.
He said “it is surprising that Sheikh Zakzaky was attacked by soldiers in his residence where over 1000 of his follower were killed in the most brutal manner including three of his sons and he and his wife were shot and he was presumed dead by the attackers, only for the Kaduna state governor to sue him for killing one soldier”.
He added that the whole world is watching to see the game being played by the government.
