No Religious War Is Going On Anywhere In Nigeria -Festus Kiyamu

By Abdulmumin Giwa

The Director Strategic Communications for Buhari 2019 Campaign, Festus Kiyamu SAN has said that there is no religious war going on anywhere in Nigeria.

He made the statement while responding to questions on a media chat program on the news satellite station, Core TV on Sunday.

He explained that Nigerians are being misled by mischievous news headlines and deceived into religious sentiment for selfish political ends.

The Senior Advocate called on people to understand that those being killed in various parts of Nigeria are Nigerians and not just Christians, Muslims or any tribe.

Kiyamu noted that ongoing killings in Benue are said to be perpetrated

by “Fulani Herdsmen” while the same killings in Zamfara are said to be perpetrated by “Bandits” to suit the interest of the propagandists against the Buhari regime.

Commenting on the recent Abuja protest by Christians, the legal practitioner stated that it should be understood that more Muslims are being killed in Nigeria than Christians following the security challenges.

He added that the type of protest he would love to participate in is that led by both Muslim and Christian leaders calling for a stop to the killing of Nigerians and not just Christians.

He explained that labels are deliberately used with mischief by opponents to discredit President Buhari.
