The Federal High Court , Abuja , Monday granted bail to former National Security Adviser (NSA) , Colonel Sambo Dasuki again.
Dasuki is currently being held by the Department of State Service and has been in custody for more than two years.
He is standing a trial for allegedly mismanaging $2.1 billion meant for the purchase of arms to fight the Boko Haram insurgents and for unlawful possession of firearms.
Noting that Dasuki’ s prolonged detention is in violation of his rights, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu granted the ex -NSA bail in the sum of N200m bail bonds, two sureties each in like sum and ordered Dasuki’s international passport should remain with the court .
The Judge ordered that the sureties must be public servants of no less than Grade Level 16, and must deposit evidence of last promotion to the court’s Registrar .
Also , the sureties must be owners of landed properties in the FCT and must deposit original copies of the land title to the court’s Registrar .
