APC Insists On Shehu Sani Despite Elrufai’s Blackmail

By Abdulmumin Giwa

The national body of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, insists that it had cleared Sen. Shehu Sani as the party’s only candidate to contest for the Kaduna Central Senate seat in the coming 2019 elections.

This is seen the reward for his loyalty and undaunted commitment to the party as well as being the most qualified candidate to pull voters to the party come 2019 general elections.

Although Kaduna governor Nasir Elrufai had already anointed his own candidate, Malam Uba Sani, his current Political Adviser, the national APC still insists on Sen Shehu Sani.

All efforts by governor Nasir Elrufai to convince the party and the presidency of Sen Sani’s disloyalty and denigrations to the president were totally disregarded even after compiling a compendium and submitting.

Elrufai’s odd opposition to Sen Shehu Sani has become too pronounced since the issue of a Senate committee in-charge of loan procurements rejected a loan proposed by the Kaduna state governor. He publicly accuses Sen Shehu Sani of refusing to provide funds for the state as the reason for his non performance.

In the compendium of denigrations written against Sen. Shehu Sani by Elrufai, he accused him of litany against President Buhari, APC and his person as Kaduna state governor.

Recently there were documents doing the rounds that the APC had cleared Uba Sani which the party outrightly dismissed as fake.

The national publicity secretary of the ruling APC, Yekini Nabena, has called on people to disregard “fake documents making the rounds” that the party had cleared Uba Sani.

Speaking to newsmen on Friday, Mr Nabena said the party only cleared Shehu Sani for the Kaduna Central ticket.

“Uba Sani stands disqualified. Any document regarding his clearance is fake. The only candidate APC cleared for Kaduna Zone 2 is Shehu Sani,” he said.
