The Kano state Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress has directed drawn the attention of all its members to abide by the State Executive Council, SEC resolution to go on strike if government fails to meet with NLC demands.
This is contained in a letter issued to all member organizations in the state and signed by the Chairman and Secretary Com (Dr.) Kabiru Ado Minjibir and Com (Dr.) Auwalu Mudi Yakasai, Chairman and Secretary respectively.
“We request all affiliates to mobilize its members to COMPLY with the resolutions of the NEC should in case the Federal government refuse to accede to the labour demands” the letter states.
The instructions also include a call on all affiliates were reminded to ensure compliance and monitor its constituency during the industrial action.
However the Kano state government has accepted that it will adopt a minimum wage of N30, 000 monthly.
This was made known the Kano Head of Service Awwal Na’iya. He therefore called on the Labour Congress in Kano not to allow the strike affect essential services in the state.
